Abstract

ZULETA PARDO, Mónica. The morals of cruelty or permission to abuse the "non-civilized". Nómadas [online]. 2014, n.40, pp.85-99. ISSN 0121-7550.

This text is a work in progress interpretation on political violence in Colombia, based on Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of moral. This interpretation places itself aloof from the social sciences approach called violentology, a notion that presupposes the dominion of an humanistic moral. It argues, instead, that for centuries Colombians have being driven by a moral that although seems to follow the humanistic ideals, creates moral values that authorize the abuse over whatever is perceived as non-civilized.

Keywords : political violence in Colombia; moral values; Nietzsche; cruelty; humanism.
