Abstract

ALVAREZ GALLEGO, Alejandro. The uprising of social sciences and the loss of political pedagogy. Nómadas [online]. 2014, n.41, pp.45-61. ISSN 0121-7550.

The article attempts to show how the social sciences in Colombia were institutionalized during the 1960s through a process of de-politicization and de-ideologization of society. This event might be related to the abandonment of a project for political pedagogy, traditionally linked to the nationalism of earlier decades. Such a process caused the academy (the scholars) and the world of school to grow apart, making the school's social sciences to appear as minor knowledge, depending on university disciplines.

Keywords : social sciences; nationalism; pedagogy; technocracy; development; school knowledge.
