Abstract

VELEZ VILLAFANE, Gerardo  and  HERRERA, Martha Cecilia. Contemporary politic formation: violent ecologies and memory pedagogy. Nómadas [online]. 2014, n.41, pp.149-165. ISSN 0121-7550.

From the perspective of the history of the present, the article examines the historiographical background, the ethical guidelines for the public use of history, and its formative value related to the place, object and practice of modern history teaching, as well as its relationship with the pedagogy of memory. This is presented as a form of ethical-political education aimed to break the persistency of violent ecologies that have characterized the political becoming of Latin America during the last two centuries.

Keywords : politic violence; politic culture; political education; memory pedagogy; history of the present.
