Abstract

War governmentality is presented as a concept to figure out contemporary wars, based on their legitimating discourses, the procedures that perpetuate them, their own rationalities, the economies that fuel them and the technologies used to motion their acceptance among the public opinion. Aiming this object, War and governmental perspectives in Foucault's work are problematized. The proposed concept joins both perspectives to approach war as a form of ruling and recognize the specificity of ruling forms manifested throughout wars.
