This article profiles professor Isaías Peña Gutiérrez, humanist, writer, literary critic, journalist, essayist, who has lead the forming process of a new generation of Colombian writers in academic circles. The text looks into his relationship with writing, with the academic programs of literary creation that he leads, and with informal exchange spaces among members of the Colombian cultural field. To conclude, the article stands out the upcoming of his literary vocation which linked to his working discipline explains the success of his versatile labor.
