Abstract

KREIMER, Pablo. MYTHS OF SCIENCE: MISADVENTURES OF RESEARCH, STUDIES ABOUT SCIENCE AND SCIENTIFIC POLICIES. Nómadas [online]. 2015, n.42, pp.33-51. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article argues that contemporary scientific policies mostly operate based on a universe of beliefs, largely unaware of the profound changes that the very idea of science has experienced. In order to do so, the article focuses on the evaluation processes of the scientific production. It shows the distance between the methods to conceptualize scientific practices and the processes of bureaucratization that regulating them. It concludes that Latin American scientific policies respond to a bureaucratic rationalization subdued to the hegemonic centers of knowledge production.

Keywords : scientific policies; studies about science; knowledge production; bureaucratization; subordination; Latin America.
