Abstract

VASQUEZ ROCCA, Adolfo. THE MATTER OF THE SUBJECT: PSYCHOPATHOLOGIES OF THE EGO AND THE BIOPOLITICAL TRANSFORMATION OF SUBJECTIVITY. Nómadas [online]. 2015, n.42, pp.53-75. ISSN 0121-7550.

Based on philosophical questions such as what is the subject? And where is it?, reconstituted by the irruption of the neurosciences, this article shows how the category of subject becomes a regulative fiction, in accordance with the necessity to arrange the world. The author tries to give account of the drives and neurochemical flows that constitute us, understood as the embracing of the organism, main original instance that appears like the world. It concludes with the transition from a psychological ego to a neurochemical one, as part of process of "incarnation" of our identity, thus becoming "somatic" individuals.

Keywords : individual; anthropology; subjectivity; ego; psychopathology; neuroscience; biopolitics; neuroethics.
