Abstract

DELATIN, Daniel; TEXEIRA CARNEIRO, María José  and  SANDRONI, Laila. FROM RESEARCH TO PUBLIC POLICIES: PRODUCTION AND CIRCULATION OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE. Nómadas [online]. 2015, n.42, pp.151-165. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article explores the workings of science in relation with public policies, from the perspective of scholars engaged in consulting work with governmental organisms. Three questions guide this analysis: how do these scholars think and evaluate this relationship?, how do they perceive their place in this relationship? And, how does knowledge circulate between these two fields? It concludes that appealing to scientific knowledge serves the necessity to justify already taken decisions rather, than to expand the range of options or as an element to support the devised policy.

Keywords : science; public policies; translation; circulation; coproduction.
