Abstract

RUEDA ORTIZ, Rocío  and  RIOS GARCIA, Mónica. Doctorate studies in social sciences: epistemologies and policies of inclusion. Nómadas [online]. 2016, n.44, pp.45-63. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article analyzes doctoral studies in social sciences and policies of higher education in Latin America. The most representantive indings are the tensions between policies which appeal to inclusion as the recognition of diversity amid policies of competitiveness and eficiency, as well as the rhetoric of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity among disciplinary models. It concludes by stating the need for social sciences which examine their own position and "normalities," and that establish dialogues with other sciences and participants as a pathway towards democratization and social inclusion.

Keywords : doctorate studies; critical social sciences; education policies; inclusion; epistemology; interdisciplinarity.
