Abstract

DOMINGUEZ, María Isabel. Higher education in Cuba and social inclusion of youths. Nómadas [online]. 2016, n.44, pp.85-103. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article defines five stages within higher education in Cuba from 1960 to 2015 and also analysizes the effects of each stage on the social inclusion of youths from an intersectional perspective which takes into account the social origin, gender and skin color. The findings indicate tensions of the process and signal the challenges involved regarding the changes that have occurred in the last five years and the new proposals for the (re)production of inequalities.

Keywords : higher education; youths; intersectionality; inequalities; inclusion public policies.
