Abstract

CUEVAS-ULITZSCH, Fernando. Naked of Wings Blood: Refections from the work of María Isabel Rueda. Nómadas [online]. 2017, n.47, pp.189-199. ISSN 0121-7550.

The article presents interpretations of particular and universal-theoretical reverberations from the work of the artist María Isabel Rueda. There is no purer matter than that which has never been touched by sight; the absence of a hard look on such matter does not make it dark, it simply makes it unknown. The work of María Isabel Rueda examines that element, without words, in its own tone and weight. Using interviews, curatorial texts and publications as references, a network of meanings is woven that allows the reader to see this body of aesthetic production from new perspectives and, as a result, enrich its enjoyment.

Keywords : creation processes; aesthetic reflection; meaning; emptiness; low; darkness.
