Abstract

VINCK, Dominique  and  CAMUS, Alexandre. Innovation Dynamics in Digital Cultures and Humanities: Corpus as a Source of Innovation. Nómadas [online]. 2019, n.50, pp.61-75. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n50a4.

The article analyzes the fact that with the emergence of digital humanities, the resulting cultural heritage turns into a field of interest for disciplines and institutions that had not considered it before. Through a case study -the digitization of5,000 hours of recorded music at a jazz festival taking place for 50 years- this article identifies how the construction of a cultural corpus results in a major resource for sustaining an innovative scientific dynamic. The argument is that cultural heritage, through its digitization, is becoming a competitive resource for computer science and engineering.
