Abstract

ISERN, Eduard Ballesté  and  PAMPOLS, Carles Feixa. The Politic South of the Global North: Re-Thinking Youth Political Participation in Spain. Nómadas [online]. 2019, n.50, pp.175-193. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n50a11.

This work explores the different forms of youth participation that emerged through the 2011 movements, specifically through the Spanish case of the 15M. The research is based on a local ethnographic work and aims at understanding the space occupied by politicized young people in the social movements coming after 15M, as well as the reactions generated by their participation in both the political field and the social spheres. It pays close attention to the dynamics of normalization that are reproduced in the field of activism and the forms of surveillance and control that affect the individuals who try to break that "norm."

Keywords : Activism; Politicized Young People; Normalization; Intersectionality; Post-15M.
