Abstract

NEIRA-CRUZ, Andrea  and  CASTILLO-OLARTE, Andrea Teresa. "Real Men": Warps and Contrasts Between Paramilitary and FARC Guerrilla Masculinities. Nómadas [online]. 2020, n.53, pp.123-139.  Epub July 03, 2021. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n53a7.

The article posits an analysis of the production of male subjectivities in two illegal armed groups in Colombia: the self-defense groups and the FARC guerrillas. The authors consider that the recognition of the complexities that emerge from the ex-combatants narration is an opportunity to overcome the binary conceptions of victim/perpetrator and good /bad, and to understand how these masculinities, to a great extent, are an expression of what the state and military apparatus have produced.

Keywords : Gender Technology; Male Subjectivities; FARC Guerrilla Masculinity; Paramilitary Masculinity; Truths; Post-Agreement.
