ROBLES-BELMONT, Eduardo; LEPRATTE, Leandro  y  AVILA, Javier. Technological Convergence in Argentina and Mexico, between Global Potentialities and Local Asymmetries. Nómadas [online]. 2021, n.55, pp.111-123.  Epub 18-Ago-2022. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n55a7.

This article characterizes the research topics in the technological convergence literature on a global scale, in Argentina and Mexico. It analyzes the place this concept takes in the main documents of science and technology policy in these two countries, as well as initiatives that promote this convergence. The results show asymmetries between the two countries and global connections and present a use of the concept in science and technology policy based on the promises and potential of emerging technologies. The authors conclude that to better understand these sociotechnical processes, it is required a new approach that starts from sociotechnical imaginaries, among other determining aspects.

Palabras clave : Technological Convergence; Argentina and Mexico; Academic Literature; Science and Technology Policy; Sociotechnical Imaginaries; Disciplinary Boundaries.
