Abstract

CASTELAO-HUERTA, Isaura. Navigating the Neoliberalized University: Adaptation and Complaint Practices of Women Full Professors. Nómadas [online]. 2022, vol.56, pp.93-109.  Epub Apr 14, 2023. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n56a5.

This article aims to present how Associate (female) Professors of the most important public university in Colombia navigate the shortcomings resulting from the implementation of neoliberal policies. Under a qualitative approach, the fieldwork carried out includes more than twenty-four interviews, as well as an ethnographic approach with seven of the Professors. The results allow us to point out that, although there is an adaptation to the prevailing working conditions, there are also complaints that are expressed through individualized protests and administrative procedures with which these situations are modified, which reveals that the subjection to neoliberal govern-mentality is not total.

Keywords : higher education; neoliberalism; gender; subjection; individualized protests; administrative procedures.
