LEON CILIOTTA, Rosalí. Children’s Narrative Books: A Diagnostic Methodology. Nómadas [online]. 2024, vol.58, e06.  Epub Oct 24, 2025. ISSN 0121-7550.  https://doi.org/10.30578/nomadas.n58a3.

This article describes the methodology of a doctoral research study on gender representation in children's literature used in Peruvian schools. The author's objective was to develop a diagnostic tool to assess the gender representation conveyed in the analyzed books. The tool, based on content analysis, comprises 35 variables and demonstrated medium-to-high reproducibility. Among other conclusions, the author considers that the chosen methodology, due to its rigor, is a useful instrument for diagnosing gender representation in children's narrative books.

Keywords : children's literature; gender representation; text analysis; gender perspective; educational materials; reading.
