ESPITIA-CABRALEZ, Enalbis; MONTOYA-VEGA, Martha Elena and BURGOS-RODRIGUEZ, Ledis Edith. Promotion of healthy lifestyles in an educational institution of the municipality of Cereté - Colombia. Hacia promoc. Salud [online]. 2024, vol.29, n.2, pp.66-78. Epub May 18, 2025. ISSN 0121-7577. https://doi.org/10.17151/hpsal.2024.29.2.5.
Objective:
to identify risk factors in students enrolled in the ninth grade of an educational institution in the municipality of Cerete-Cordoba and to carry out a health education intervention with them.
Methodology:
The study was developed under the methodology of Participatory Action Intervention (PAR) in a population of 81 students with the participation of their parents and teachers. For the collection of information, the nutritional clinical history was filled out through individualized interviews. The descriptive analysis focused on calculating the frequencies and percentages for each variable of the questionnaire. Frequency tables were prepared to visualize the distribution of responses and descriptive statistics were calculated for each of the variables of interest, including mean values, standard deviation and 95% confidence intervals.
Results:
59.8% of adolescents with presence of protective habits and family history that promote healthy living; and 40.12% related to risk factors which is considered a significant percentage that requires intervention in health education on healthy lifestyles.
Conclusions:
Healthy Lifestyles are those habits that should be consolidated throughout the development of an individual and are conceived in the family; hence the importance of the implementation of school programs that promote good health practices which should be integrated by parents, managers and teachers to ensure greater effectiveness.
