Abstract
GUARNIZO ZUCCARDI, Pilar; ERASO GARNICA, Ruth María and RAMIREZ GOMEZ, Luis Alberto. Inmunization in patients with rheumatoid diseases . Rev.Colomb.Reumatol. [online]. 2006, vol.13, n.1, pp.65-75. ISSN 0121-8123.
The patients with rheumatic diseases are considered immunosuppressed, as much by the alterations of the humoral and/or cellular immunity that characterize them as for the immunossupresor therapy used in their treatment. This fact turns them into a population of high risk to acquire infections, many of which are vaccine-preventable; this is why it is very important to establish an optimal program of vaccination. There is no standardization in the practices of vaccination which are based in the present evidence, that is the reason why guides are necessary to clarify the questions daily emerging in the scientific community. In the present review we gave some recommendations for immunization in patients with rheumatic diseases .
