Abstract

FERNANDEZ-AVILA, Daniel G.; DAVID-PARDO, David Gabriel  and  BERMUDEZ, Mary. Onset of rheumatoid arthritis after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Rev.Colomb.Reumatol. [online]. 2022, vol.29, suppl.1, pp.80-83.  Epub Feb 03, 2024. ISSN 0121-8123.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rcreu.2021.10.007.

Cases of autoimmune pathologies with onset after infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been described. The causal relationship is not yet clear.

We report the case of a 44-year-old woman who, 18 days after presenting with SARS-CoV-2 infection without hypoxaemia, presented with a clinical picture compatible with a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.

This case reinforces the possibility of a causal relationship between both entities.
