This article is part of the research ''Women from Tunja: Living conditions in the period 1810-1819 Independence'', which intends to rebuild the social, personal, familiar, cultural and economic status of women in the Province of Tunja during the independence period. This document describes the historiographical balance of historic works, which describes, analyzes and recreates the different forms of participation of women in different aspects of everyday life of the period presented. The article is divided into three sections, The general historiography on women in independence; The works of Boyacá-born heroines and martyrs and the documents in the Boyacá Regional Archive by the Tunja's Historical Fund, where women in different social contexts is displayed.
