The following paper is a chapter of the thesis entitled Colombian Science fiction and Modernity: a Study of three Works from the first half of the XX, developed in the Masters in Literature program at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. Firstly, the text aims at establishing a definition of the genre as a plausible fantasy, in order to later study its characteristics and development through several propositions by Claudio Guillén.
