Abstract

In this article, review, describes forms of political violence that have influenced the development of Latin America from literary narratives of Latin American writers. This, under the consideration that these stories have brought to light, in the international sphere, the violence that exists in this region, besides being an instrument of proven academic vocation. Literary language used for several reasons: over time it has contributed to the consolidation of the Latin American nation, in the sense that the American, stripped of our gods, cultures and institutions; colonized with violence and blurred with the mixture of our race We have found in the literature, our authors, a way to meet our troubled history and denounce violence has not been appeased in this region. Moreover, the literature describes, like history, political phenomena but exceeds the descriptive language and emotions or feelings involve achieved from the recreation of characters that give visibility to the masses makers of history. And finally we come to literature chosen because the narrators have been recognized for his professional career, in many cases in the legal and diplomatic, they sought international recognition in the context of their political commitment, in addition to the renowned literary recognition. We report here the first part of this research literature including Colombia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico and Chile; does not include the experiences of other countries such as Panama, Honduras, Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil and Peru to be addressed in another article. The text is developed from the description of the relationship between literature and violence explained by Saul Sosnowsky; continues with the conceptualization of the forms of political violence posed by Ariel Dorfman, to finally make our description of such violence located in narratives of important relevance in the literature. This article does not explore the structure of the text, character traits or other aspects of the narratives; our contribution is focused on the description of the forms of violence, besides trying to present categories of analysis that can contribute to the study of the characteristics of violence.
