It was analyzed the importance of forensic psychological reports on judicial decisions by first instance courts in sexual assaults in the city of Barranqui-lla, Colombia, this by using a quantitative descriptive methodology. Different variables were analyzed in order to know the mention of the forensic psychological evaluation and what is the differential value of the forensic psychological reports; as well it was reviewed the correlation between the final decision of the Judge and the results reflected in the forensic psychological report. As significant results, were identified that in 80 % the judge mention the psychological evaluation to substantiate the reasons of the sentence, also in 80 % the Judge made the sentence in a consistent manner with the results of the report. In conclusion, we propose that for Justice Administration it is imperative the support of specialized auxiliary personnel and legal psychologist serve as a direct source of knowledge, whose contribution is establish as a significant means of conviction.
