This article aims to present the negative consequences of the Colombian armed conflict upon the economic preparation of older victims. The results presented here are based on a qualitative and quantitative research focused on the voice of the victims of the armed conflict. Changes on the victims' economic roles, loss of savings and productive assets, barriers to employment and damages upon the property of the victims are some of the most serious impacts on the economic preparation for older victims. Colombia must advance in enhancing the victims' life conditions and promoting and economic security for the older persons.
