The objective of this article is to show the effects of the prisionalization of the older adult inmate in the Provincial Prison of Ciego de Avila in Cuba, for this we analyze analysis criteria of the penitentiary system in our country, from its antecedents to the classification that today groups the convicts, emphasizing the tertiary victimization of this victim group within the prison system and its risk factors; Next, a characterization of the situation of the inmate inmates in this Penitentiary Center in the period from 2005 to 2019 is presented. As a Research Method, we used a dialectical-materialistic approach to reality, which enabled the coping of all research, taking into account The theoretical-doctrinal nature of the text is related, which determined that the methodical was framed around the methods historical-Logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, theoretical-legal and sociological.

Undoubtedly, the usefulness of the work is shown in a rationale of the effects of the prisionalization in the older adult inmate in the Provincial Prison of the Ciego of Avila territory, delving into the path of tertiary victimization, in addition to providing updated bibliographic material that it may be used in the undergraduate and graduate teaching of Criminology.
