The health sector has been on the front line since the beginning of the COVID-19 contingency, clearly exposed constantly to the biological risk factor, thus allowing staff to contract this pathology; therefore, since COVID-19 is a new pathology, of which there was no record, the National Government needed to issue Decree 676 of 2020, which introduces COVID-19 in the table of occupational diseases, presuming the same for the health sector.
