Abstract
GARCIA D, Juan; CUESTA M, Mario and PEDROSO S, Rodolfo. DIRECTION FOR COPPER SULPHATE ON THE HAEMOCHEMIST, HAEMATOLOGY AND BIOACTIVITY OF RUMINAL FLUID IN CATTLE. Rev.MVZ Cordoba [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.2, pp.639-647. ISSN 0122-0268.
The research work was carried out in dairy production units belonging to the Dairy Cattle Farm at Santa Clara in Villa Clara province, Cuba. One hundred and fifty bovine females were divided in three groups to study the following treatments: A; B and C, fifty animals each one; A, control; B, it was treated with 2 ml of CuSO4, (25mg/ml), compound injected subcutaneously (allopathically) and C, treated with acupuncture, using 0.1 ml of the compound mentioned before, also injected subcutaneously in the point PaHuai or Bahuai. The animals included in the group A weren't treated. Animals included in groups B and C received a repeated treatment every 60 days in two applications more. There were statistically significant differences P < 0,05 in the treated groups compared with the control. Higher levels of K, Cu, Fe, Hto and Hemoglobin and ruminal liquid bioactivity was observed in treated groups. In addition, in group C, one/twenty of the allopathic doses were used. The feasibility of cuppertheraphy was demonstrated applying both allopathically and acupunctural methods in order to increase the hematological and hemochemical profiles. The ruminal bioactivity was also improv ed.
