Abstract

This paper presents some reflections and contemplates challenges on the teaching models of rehabilitation-related health professions. Under the premises of education and research on rehabilitation the discussion focuses around the general lines which regulate quality of education, regional needs for these professionals, minimum quality requirements to guarantee professional excellence, developments on this field obtained in the country and strategies which may lead to advances. This considering they are aspects that deserve a thorough discussion by the ministry of social protection, the ministry of education, rehabilitation schools and programs and scientific associations in order to achieve excellence in the training of future professionals in the area.
