Abstract

PENA-VARON, Jenny Faisury; MARIN-VELASQUEZ, Paola Andrea  and  MOSQUERA-BECERRA, Janeth. The Role of Systematization of Experiences in the Processes of Evaluation of Interventions in Public Health in the “Comuna Saludable por la Paz”, Cali - Colombia. Prospectiva [online]. 2021, n.31, pp.299-313.  Epub Jan 01, 2021. ISSN 0122-1213.  https://doi.org/10.25100/prts.v0i31.10572.

In recent years, the systematization of experiences has been gaining relevance not only in alternative community processes, but also in academic and institutional settings. This article seeks to highlight the contribution of the systematization of experiences in the evaluation of public health interventions. The article is based on an experience in Cali in which a systematization exercise was carried out in order to describe the context in which the experience to be evaluated was developed and to recover the same experience that had been implemented for 10 years. This experience was a starting point to carry out an evaluative investigation of “Comuna Saludable por la Paz” in the Red de Salud Sur Oriente of Comuna 16 in Santiago de Cali (2008-2019) It is concluded that, due to the complexity of the contexts and interventions in public health, the systematization of experiences given its theoretical-methodological proposal contributes to evaluation processes in public health, since it facilitates the reconstruction of the intervention and the identification of the context inwhich the experience was implemented, two fundamental elements to be able to carry out public health evaluations.
