Abstract

LASSO-GUERRERO, Juan Gabriel; ARTURO-INSUASTY, Germán Alonso  and  CASTELLANOS-NAVARRETE, Jennyfer Alejandra. Reflections about the participation of artisans in the creative scenario of the Negros y Blancos`s Carnival of San Juan de Pasto, Colombia. Prospectiva [online]. 2023, n.35, e21012349.  Epub Dec 23, 2022. ISSN 0122-1213.  https://doi.org/10.25100/prts.v0i35.12349.

The creative and cultural environment of the cities of Colombia contemplates carnivals as a relevant social manifestation. The reflection described in this document intends, from an analytical perspective, to expose the impact of the master craftsmen of the floats of the Carnival of Negros and Blancos de Pasto on the configuration of the social atmosphere that distinguishes the region.

From the bibliographic review of articles and research, the investigative experience, and reflective practice to establish a dialogue between authors, the main characteristics of the cultural actors of the carnivals of Colombia are revealed, highlighting the particularity of the master craftsman in the capital of Nariño.

Subsequently, relevant aspects of Carnival are distinguished as a setting for the creation and integration of knowledge around the conception and staging of the parade. Finally, some considerations are raised about the role of the artisan as a maker capable of mobilizing and strengthening the cultural identity and social fabric through his works.
