Abstract
OTALVARO-MARIN, Bairon; PARRA-LOPEZ, María Yulitza and KLINGER-CUNDUMI, Estefanía. Analysis of social, environmental, and territorial injustices in the Department of Chocó, Colombia. Prospectiva [online]. 2023, n.36, e20212476. Epub May 05, 2023. ISSN 0122-1213. https://doi.org/10.25100/prts.v0i36.12476.
The purpose of this paper is to highlight the social, environmental, and territorial injustices present in the department of Chocó in the period 2008-2019. The theories of justice and sustainable development are used to contribute to the transformation of exclusionary and unequal social relations that are justified through mechanisms of oppression, grabbing, and territorial racism. It is a qualitative study that illustrates how social and environmental injustices in the department are due to a development model that deepens relations of exploitation, commodification, discrimination, and subordination of citizens. The conclusions indicate the coexistence of multiple mechanisms of social exclusion that generate vulnerability, deprivation of rights, and an increase in social conflict intervened with authoritarian governance strategies.
