Rural [online]. 2014, vol.11, n.74, pp.13-34. ISSN 0122-1450.  https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.CRD11-74.rter.

By analyzing the reproduction strategies deployed by the peri-urban domestic groups from San Diego Cuachayotla (Puebla, Mexico), the article examines the various forms under which the social sphere is recreated in rural areas under stress caused by the interaction of processes and actors from other areas. It is also analyzed the role of agricultural practices as part of these strategies. Among the results of the case stud^ it stands out the description of how the peri-urbanisation process occurs in territories with a strong rural component and it leads to the formulation of specific breeding strategies derived from the joint or overlapping of the urban sphere with certain specific expressions of what rural is.
