VILLAGRAN, Paula Soto and YISSI, María Julia Fawaz. Being a Micro-Entrepreneur Woman in the Rural Context. Spaces, Experiences, and Meanings. Cuad. Desarro. Rural [online]. 2016, vol.13, n.77, pp.141-165. ISSN 0122-1450. https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.cdr13-77.smme.
In the context of a new heterogeneous, complex, and multifunctional rurality, the entrepreneurship option becomes a new path for subsistence and personal and family sustainability for an ever growing number of women. The purpose of this work is to understand the effect these micro-entrepreneurship projects have in different spatial scales, emphasizing on the ways personal, family, and business spaces are reconciled. Using a qualitative methodology and in the context of the structural tendencies of women's rural microentrepreneurship, we analyze the narrative of four micro-enterprises led by women in the Nuble province, in Chile.
