Abstract

This paper study the relations between press and politic during 1929 and 1931, the period of the transition from the Conservative hegemony to the liberal presidency of Enrique Olaya Herrera (1930-1934). During that period both Vanguardia Liberal and its director-owner Alejandro Galvis Galvis had a lead role within the Santander's political dynamic. Taking into account that reference, and with the support of the contextualization, the idea is to identify the particular characteristics provided by the Santander`s case among the general frame of the transitions towards the Liberal Republic in Colombia.
