Abstract

MARIN RIVAS, María del Pilar. Violations of Human Rights in Colombia During the 80s of the Twentieth Century: The Approach to the Historical Understanding from the Degradation and Strengthening of the Defense. Anu.hist.reg.front. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.1, pp.113-135. ISSN 0122-2066.  https://doi.org/10.18273/revanu.v22n1-2017005.

The 1980s represented for Colombia degradation, terror, persecution, escalation of violence and despair. This article makes a historical review of that period, inquiring standards, illegal means and foreign doctrines that were the foundation and encouraged the persecution and repression, and exploring the social and organizational measures to counteract them. This analysis was carried out with different primary sources and made it possible to visualize how while the degradation increased, the defense of human rights was also strengthened by integrating new performers, creating spaces, strategies and means to gain effectiveness in the complaint, conquer international settings and drive further the policy and institutional reforms.

Keywords : Colombia; Human Rights Violation; Oppression; Resistance; Social Justice.
