This text deals with the sculpture and the monument as subjects of study and analyzes the province of Guanentá, in the department of Santander, Colombia. The objective was to identify the existing sculptures to generate a documentary base that would serve as a starting point for new historiographical and artistic research. The study arose as a reaction to the lack of documentation, cataloging, classification, and absence of academic studies on sculpture in the province. To this end, the work was based on the documentary review of municipal archives, local and regional literature, and on-site work in the municipalities studied.
