Abstract
BALLESTEROS GRANADOS, Rubby Vanesa; SAINEA VARGAS, Carlos Javier and CACERES CARDENAS, Luis Alberto. Analysis of deflections and settlements in deep excavations on soft soils of Bogotá. Ing. Desarro. [online]. 2018, vol.36, n.2, pp.437-454. ISSN 0122-3461. https://doi.org/10.14482/inde.36.2.10469.
The execution of deep excavations can generate adverse effects as aesthetic, functional damages and eventually collapse in surrounding constructions cau sed by excessive ground movements; because of that, the previous estimation of wall deflections and ground settlement in neighboring areas is needed to guarantee the excavations safety during the construction process. This paper presents the results of multiple numerical simulations of 2D deep excavations adopting the service limit states criterion, which allow to evaluate their beha vior in the construction process and considering their use in transport lines or building basements. The analysis included different building loads, soft soil profiles, excavation sequences and thickness of support elements. Finally, with the obtained results, graphical tools are presented which are used to estimate deflections in retaining walls and Ground surface settlements that can occur in projects of similar characteristics.
