FIGUEROA INFANTE, ANA-SOFIA e RAMIREZ GOMEZ, HUMBERTO. Performance of C&DW on urban roads. Ing. Desarro. [online]. 2024, vol.42, n.2, pp.190-205. Epub 01-Jul-2024. ISSN 0122-3461. https://doi.org/10.14482/inde.42.02.864.445.
This research presents an advance of the structural response of the Construction and Demolition Waste (CD&W) used in a local road in Bogotá, D.C. for medium traffic, half of it was built with virgin materials and the other half with CD&W. The construction of the road was finished in January 2020, and since then, structural and functional monitoring of each section has been monitored in order to have greater certainty on the performance of the RCDs. Among the results obtained, the high susceptibility to moisture damage of the Cold Dense Mix, MDF 20, with 100 % Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) stands out. Among the analyses performed, the visual auscultation with the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method yielded a value of 85 (excellent) for the conventional pavement and 74 (very good) for the pavement with RCD. The International Roughness Index (IRI) was 3,3 m/km for the conventional section and 3,7 m/km for the RCD section. This indicates that the average serviceability at 2,9 years, obtained from the Paterson and Gillespie equation, is 2,66 for the conventional pavement and 2,89 for the RCD pavement.
