ROJAS PARRA, Fernando. APORTES PARA A MELHORIA DA GESTÃO DO TRANSPORTE PÚBLICO POR ÔNIBUS DE BOGOTÁ, A PARTIR DAS EXPERIENCIAS DE BELO HORIZONTE E CURITIBA*. Pap.polit. [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.2, pp.557-594. ISSN 0122-4409.
During the last century the city has strengthened its position in world reality. The partial solutions that used to be formulated by architects, engineers or politics have weakened. The complexity of the urban challenges requires multidisciplinary work. Considering the problems generated by the irrational increase of private cars during the second half of the XX century, the public transportation systems have consolidated as an important axis for the planning, development and city management. While claiming the relevance of the public transportation administration, the research had the objective to offer contributions for the improvement of public transportation management of buses in Bogotá, based on an analysis of the public transportation authority of buses and four management variables in some cities in Brazil. The variables that were chosen were related to the regulation, administration, operational program and supervision. The cities in Brazil that were selected were Belo Horizonte and Curitiba. Methodologically the research was based on an analysis of the literature, by the formulation of a model of comparison and by an analysis of collected and organized sources of information. As a result, five recommendations are highlighted for Bogotá: The centralization of the management authority the regulation of the public transportation system of buses; the entire management of the infra-structure and the relationship with the community, the integration of the operation program, and a combination of technology with human resources.
