UGARRIZA, Juan Esteban. Democracy in th e Twentieth-first Century: Present and Future of the Deliberative Model. Pap.polit. [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.2, pp.431-465. ISSN 0122-4409.

Deliberative democracy theory breaks into the 1980s as a response to the crisis of contemporary democracy. This paper takes an historical tour of its origins, discussions and advances, up to the normative work's current state of the art. The deliberative debate's evolution in the last two decades has reached such a point of maturity that today it demands concrete proposals of a tangible deliberative democratic system.

Keywords : Democracy deliberate; participative democracy; Rawls John Bordley; 1921 - 2002; critique and interpretation; politic philosophy; democracy.
