Abstract

United States National Security Council: evolution, organization and lessons. Pap.polit. [online]. 2012, vol.17, n.1, pp.239-268. ISSN 0122-4409.

The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, announced in September 2010 the creation of the National Security Council and the position of National Security Advisor. The idea behind these creations is to construct an instance of advice and coordination to allow the articulation of policies between different ministries, following the model built on this particular for the United States. This, in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of these types of organizations helping to provide some evidence that will allow a better understanding of the scope, strengths and weaknesses of these types of organizations.
