This article, according to the importance and complexity conceptual precision has for Social Sciences, is to submit for discussion the concept of political disaffection. This corresponds to a phenomenon that is identified in the mid-nineties in Chile, after the return to democracy. Although the literature has noticed the phenomenon, it lacks a precise definition; in our point of view, the concept has not been contextualized in a way that presents the necessary attributes that adjust it to Chilean reality in order to be able to observe it clearly.
