LOPEZ GOMEZ, Daniela. History of ethnic conflicts over territory in Northern Cauca and Choco. Its impact on the land restitution policy, 2011. Mem. Soc. [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.37, pp.34-49. ISSN 0122-5197.  https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.mys18-37.hcit.

This article reports the relationship between indigenous and black communities in the area of Northern Cauca (san Rafael and Monte Teta) and North Choco (Unguia), focusing on the conflict over territory with the aim of demonstrating that ethnic groups are not homogeneous and that they do not have a state of inertia over time. It also aims to demonstrate that territorial disputes are common and they do not just limit to the confrontations between insurgent groups and the population but, on the contrary, the communities themselves also dispute over it. Having said that, in the current context in which the Land Restitution Law is one of the most important policies, this kind of analysis is relevant because although this law is critical for the victims, it can intensify or generate conflicts between the population for the territories.
