Abstract

MACHADO ARAOZ, Horacio. Modern Territory and (Colonial) Geography of Capital. A Minimal Archeology. Mem. Soc. [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.39, pp.174-191. ISSN 0122-5197.  https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.mys19-39.tmgc.

This article seeks to provide a minimal archeology of some of the main theoretical links that influenced how the modern concept of territory was articulated. This inquiry seeks to bring to light the extent this construct has operated as a key mechanism for the gradual establishment and institutionalization of the colonial geography of capital as a global western domination system, in particular, as an hegemonic geopolitical core.

Keywords : territory; property; colonialism; capitalism.
