Abstract

DE LA CRUZ VERGARA, Maribel. Influence of the Physiocratic Thought in the Organization of Colombia Public Finance in the First Half of the 19th Century. Mem. Soc. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.40, pp.87-99. ISSN 0122-5197.  https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.mys20-40.ceun.

The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of the thought of spaniard physiocrats in the creation, organization, and set in motion of Colombian public finances in the first half of the 19th Century. Thus, we will tackle the proposals of Jovellanos and Capomanes, presented to improve the economic growth of spain, which came to America through the Bourbon Reforms and remained in force during the first years of the Republic, despite the independence revolutions. Additionally, we will analyze the theoretical approach to Colombian public finance and their break from physiocracy based on the memories of the National Public Treasury, during the 1822 - 1850 period.

Keywords : physiocracy; public finance; Colombia.
