Abstract
DIAZ JARAMILLO, José Abelardo. I Came to Create it All: Carlos Pellicer and the Student Association of Bogota 1918-1920. Mem. Soc. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.40, pp.170-184. ISSN 0122-5197. https://doi.org/10.11144/Javeriana.mys20-40.vctc.
This article analyzes the role of the Mexican Carlos Pellicer in the creation of the student Association of Bogota in 1919. We argue that his presence in the city, in addition to enriching the ideals of the organization of students - who pushed their way in their aspiration to have an influence on the destiny of the country - made possible a mediated understanding of the Mexican Revolution, as captured in representations of politics, education, and culture of said country, and presented through conferences, press articles, and public celebrations. This understanding fueled the desire for educational and cultural transformation of Colombian students as recorded in the country during the 1920's.
