Abstract

BETANCUR, Diela Bibiana. Firmar en nombre propio. Representaciones de jóvenes universitarios sobre la escritura académica. Enunciación [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.1, pp.91-105. ISSN 0122-6339.  https://doi.org/https://doi.org/10.14483/22486798.17083.

This reflection paper is derived from doctoral research. In it, I strive to understand the subjective representations that some young university students of the Degree in Literature and Spanish Language from the University de Antioquia have about academic writing in light of the New Literacy Studies (NEL), a theoretical field that dialogues with decolonial perspectives in education. Likewise, I establish a link between the reflections of this work and the concept of transmission as a process that implies bequeathing cultural heritage and enabling its transformation at the same time. In methodological terms, this research responds to a collective-case study as a strategy that allows gathering an understanding of singularity in cultural and institutional coordinates. The results allow understanding discomforts, but also the possibilities that academic writing has generated for these young people in terms of its conventions, its predominant and alternative discursive genres, and the possibility of being subjectively involved in them or not. These representations confront them with the desire, demand, or fear of signing on their own behalf.

Keywords : university students; academic writing; academic literacy; New Literacy Studies; subjective representation.
