The transition to democracy (1975-1982), which witnessed a host of changes in political and social life, was a point of inflection for the appearance of new forms of cinematographic discourse on all things Andalusian. These approaches were marked by more thoughtful plots and a more nuanced image of the characters and spaces being represented. Still, to this day, the variety methods used to bring the image of Andalucía to the screen have been burdened, for the most part, by the symbolic elements employed in the past to construct a pejorative stereotype of this region.
