Abstract

SABES-TURMO, Fernando. Mass Media for the "Latin Nation" Living in Spain. Palabra Clave [online]. 2009, vol.12, n.1, pp.117-119. ISSN 0122-8285.

The arrival of Latin American immigrants has sparked important changes in Spain's cultural industries, including the mass media. This population represents a percentage of the potential audience the media must take into account. It is viewed uniformly as a Latin nation. Yet, in reality, its countries of origin signal clear distinctions between the different groups. The emergence of mass media directed towards this Latin nation is a constant, and this article analyzes some of the respective projects in the press and radio.

Keywords : Immigration; Latin America; mass media; Latin nation; Spain; press and radio.
